How do vaccines actually work inside the human immune system?
What happens at a cellular level when a vaccine is injected into the body, and how does it prevent future viral infections?

Vaccines introduce a harmless piece of a pathogen (like a dead virus or a protein). This triggers the immune system to produce antibodies and memory cells. If the real, live pathogen ever enters the body, the immune system instantly recognizes and destroys it.
