I left rice cooking too long and now the inside bottom of my premium stainless steel pot is covered in a rock-hard black crust. How do you clean it?

Fill the pot with water, add two generous tablespoons of baking soda, and bring the mixture to a boil on your stove. The boiling alkaline solution lifts the burnt crust.
