I feel like I'm wasting my life in my 20s
I'm 26 and I feel like I'm behind everyone. My friends are buying houses, getting promoted, getting married. I'm working a dead-end job, I have no savings, and I don't even know what I want to do with my life. Is it normal to feel this way?

It's completely normal and honestly, almost everyone in their mid-20s feels this way. You just don't see it because nobody posts about it. Everyone's Instagram shows the highlight reel, not the 2am panic about their 401k.
Here's the reality: you're not behind. You're right on schedule. The average age for buying a first home is now 36. The average age for getting married is 30 for men, 28 for women. Your friends who seem "ahead" are either lying, in debt, or got lucky with timing (like parents helping with a down payment).
What actually matters in your 20s isn't achievements — it's building habits. If you're saving even $100/month, learning one new skill per year, and taking care of your health, you're winning. Most people your age are doing none of that.
Stop comparing your chapter 5 to someone else's chapter 20. Focus on getting 1% better every week. In 2 years you'll look back and not recognize yourself. That's not a cliché — it's math.
