My dog barks at everything. How do I train him to stop?
My 2-year-old Labrador barks at literally everything — people walking by, cars, squirrels, the wind. My neighbors have complained twice. I've tried telling him "quiet" but he just barks more. What can I actually do?

First, understand that barking is natural dog communication — you can't eliminate it entirely, but you can control it. Here's a step-by-step plan: 1) The "Quiet" command only works if you teach it properly. Say "quiet" in a calm voice, wait for ANY pause in barking (even half a second), immediately say "yes!" and give a high-value treat. Repeat this 50+ times a day for 2 weeks. Consistency is everything. 2) Identify triggers — if he barks at people walking by, manage the environment. Close blinds, use a white noise machine. 3) Exercise him MORE — a tired dog barks less. A 2-year-old Lab needs 1-2 hours of vigorous exercise daily. 4) Teach "place" — train him to go to a specific mat and stay there when the doorbell rings. Reward heavily. 5) Never yell "QUIET!" — that excites him and makes it worse. Be calm and boring. This takes 4-6 weeks of daily practice. If it's not improving, hire a positive reinforcement trainer for 3-5 sessions. They'll fix it fast.
