My toddler won't eat vegetables. Any tips?

My 2-year-old refuses to eat any vegetables. She'll eat chicken nuggets, pasta, fruit, cheese—basically everything except anything green or orange. I've tried hiding them in sauce, blending them, cutting them into fun shapes. Nothing works. She just spits them out or throws them on the floor. My pediatrician says she's growing fine but I'm worried about her nutrition.

First, relax—your pediatrician says she's growing fine, so she's getting what she needs. Now here's what actually works with picky toddlers (from a mom of 3):

1. Stop the pressure. The more you force, the more she resists. This is called the "division of responsibility"—you decide WHAT and WHEN, she decides IF and HOW MUCH.

2. The "one bite" rule. Put one tiny piece of vegetable on her plate. She doesn't have to eat it—just taste it. No praise, no punishment. This builds familiarity without a power struggle.

3. Dip everything. Toddlers love dipping. Hummus, ranch, yogurt—put the vegetable next to the dip. She'll eat the carrot if she can dip it.

4. Involve her in cooking. Let her "help" stir, wash, or pick vegetables at the store. Kids eat what they help make.

5. Be patient—it takes 15-20 exposures before a toddler accepts a new food. Keep offering without forcing.

She'll come around. Almost every picky eater eventually expands their palate. You're doing great.
