My Uber Eats orders keep arriving cold. What can I do?
I order from Uber Eats about 4 times a week. At least 2 out of 4 orders arrive cold or lukewarm. The food is fine when I open it but it's not hot like it should be. I've tried complaining through the app but they just give me a $5 credit. Is there anything I can actually do to get hot food?

This is frustrating and more common than you think. Here's what's happening and how to actually fix it:
Why it happens: Uber Eats uses independent drivers who often stack multiple orders. Your food sits in their bag while they deliver someone else's order first. By the time they get to you, it's cold.
What actually works:
1. **Tip $3-5 minimum**. I know it's annoying, but drivers prioritize high-tip orders. A $2 tip means your food is last on their list.
2. Order from restaurants close to you. Under 3 miles. The shorter the distance, the hotter the food.
3. Use the "Leave at Door" option and heat it immediately. Don't let it sit for 10 minutes while you find a fork.
4. Choose restaurants that package well. Avoid places that use thin plastic containers. Look for restaurants with insulated bags or foil-wrapped items.
5. Complain differently. Instead of using the in-app complaint, tweet at @UberEats with your order number. Social media complaints get escalated faster than app complaints.
The $5 credit is their way of keeping you quiet. Don't be quiet.
