Should I learn to code or learn digital marketing?
I'm 28 and want to switch careers. I've been researching and I can't decide between learning to code (Python/web dev) or digital marketing (SEO, ads, social media). Which one has better job prospects and pay in 2024?

Both are great, but they're very different paths so let me break it down. Coding: Higher salary ceiling ($80-150k+ for experienced devs), more job security, but steeper learning curve (6-12 months to be job-ready). The market is competitive right now for juniors, but if you're good, you'll always have work. Digital Marketing: Faster to get started (2-4 months to basics), more varied work, slightly lower salary ceiling ($50-90k for experienced), but more entry-level opportunities right now. Here's my honest take: if you enjoy problem-solving, logic, and building things, go with coding. If you prefer creativity, talking to people, and fast results, go with marketing. But here's the wildcard — learn BOTH at a basic level. A marketer who can code (or a coder who understands marketing) is incredibly valuable. Start with whichever excites you more — you'll learn faster when you're genuinely interested. The best time to start was yesterday.
