What are the long-term structural benefits of using composite decking over natural treated wood?
I am building a large backyard patio deck. Why are contractors heavily recommending expensive plastic composite boards instead of traditional pine?

While upfront costs are higher, composite boards (made from recycled plastics and wood fibers) are structurally immune to rot, termite infestations, and splintering. They never require annual power-washing, heavy sanding, or toxic chemical restaining, making them vastly cheaper and easier to maintain over a twenty-year lifespan.
