Why does my cat knead me so hard it hurts?
My cat kneads my stomach every night before bed and she uses her claws. It's cute for like 30 seconds but then it actually hurts. She also sometimes bites while doing it. Is this normal or is she trying to kill me?

Haha, she's not trying to kill you — she's showing love in the most painful way possible! Kneading is a leftover behavior from kittenhood when they kneaded their mother to stimulate milk flow. It means your cat feels safe, comfortable, and bonded to you. It's actually a huge compliment. The claws hurt because she's in full "biscuit-making" mode and forgets to retract them. The biting is usually overstimulation — she's so happy she gets a little intense, kind of like how some people bite when they're really into a hug. Here's how to make it less painful: keep her nails trimmed every 2 weeks (this helps the most). When she starts kneading hard, gently redirect her with a soft blanket or toy. Don't push her away — that hurts her feelings. Some cats also knead when they're anxious, so if it's excessive, check if anything in her environment has changed. You've been chosen. Embrace the pain.
